Protection against Malicious Attacks for Enterprise Networks

Project Description

In recent years many supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to control power grids, gas pipelines, dams, water treatment plants and chemical plants have been connected to the Internet for operational efficiency. There is a growing concern that these systems are potential targets for large-scale malicious attacks, such as recent Internet worms, viruses, intrusion and Denial-of-Service attacks that can disrupt or even disable, critical infrastructure services. Our goal is not only to provide a "perimeter defense" against malicious viruses and worms attacking enterprise networks, but also to enable fast, effective containment of vulnerable/infected systems and services as soon as such attacks are detected.
