Research Interests

Wireless networks: Cognitive Radios (CRs), Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA); emphasis on design of protocols and algorithms in PHY and MAC layers.

Detailed research area includes:

  • Spectrum sensing issues in CR/DSA networks, such as
    • PHY-layer signal detection,
    • MAC-layer sensing scheduling mechanisms,
    • MAC-layer collaborative spectrum sensing
  • Efficient spectrum opportunity reuse via resource allocation/management in CR/DSA networks
    • Optimal user control at commercial CR networks,
    • Asymmetric resource allocation in cellular CR networks for multi-scale primary protection
